Batted Ball Space

Every MLB ball in play, 2015-2026. A point's direction from the center is its launch angle and spray angle; its distance from the center is exit velo. Color shows how often that contact became a hit, or its wOBA on contact (wOBAcon). The slice panel flattens one exit velo band into a map.

Spray angle is normalized. Left-handed hitters are mirrored, so pull is always negative (left of center) and every hitter is shown as if right-handed.

MLB Statcast, regular season. Each bin is pooled with its neighbors; Statcast's placeholder values for untracked balls are excluded.
